Hello,

You can now find your grades for the lab assignments on Moodle. I have uploaded feedback comments as well.

The grading scheme is as follows:

Lab-1:

  • Mandatory book attributes : 1
  • Publisher puts books in the database : 1
  • Publisher sends book IDs to channels by their keyword : 1
  • Subscriber subscribes to a channel and retrieves all messages : 3
  • Subscriber retrieves a book and prints information about it : 1
  • Subscriber borrows a book : 2
  • Subscriber returns a book :2
  • Books are getting expired :2
  • A book expiry date is refreshed when it was borrowed :2
  • Report- how to run the code : 2
  • Report- scenarios : 1
  • Report- examples : 2

Lab-2:

  • Task 0 : 2
  • Task 1.1 : 1
  • Task 1.2a-d : 1 each
  • Task 1.2e : 2
  • Task 1.2f-g : 1 each
  • 2.1-2.4: 2 overall
  • 2.5-2.6: 2 overall
  • Task 3: 3
  • Report quality: 2

Lab-3:

(sf = scaling factor)

  • Task 1.1: Set up Amazon RDS account and connect: 1
  • Task 1.2: Load schema and constraints: 1
  • Task 1.3: Load data: 2
  • Task 2.1: Run queries+measure runtime (details of measuring runtime): 3
  • Task 2.2.1: Plots of each query's runtimes and analysis (plots for sf 0.1+analysis): 2
  • Task 2.2.2: sf 1 (load and query cloud): 1
  • Task 2.3: Trends across queries; scalability analysis (use EXPLAIN to get query plan for each and analyze the cost): 3
  • Task 3.1: Load datasets on laptop (sf 0.1 and 1): 1
  • Task 3.2: Run queries (sf 0.1 and 1): 2
  • Task 3.3: Comparison plots and analysis of local vs cloud with sf-0.1: 2
  • Task 3.3 Comparison plots and analysis of local vs cloud with sf-1: 1
